Chinese Thanksgiving Day 5 ...and then there were two

Image
A winter storm warning was in effect for Sunday, the day the kids were due to fly home.  The early departures got out ahead of the storm, but Tianchen's flight was delayed.  He was heading to Boston. Not knowing when it was best to leave for the airport, we stuck close to home with the last two and just relaxed. I love that he fished in the squatty potty position- it's the Chinese Way! Both Tianchen and Ginger did some homework, and Tianchen spent several hours in the afternoon fishing off our dock.  He didn't catch anything, but he said he was completely satisfied- he just enjoys fishing, whether he catches or not! Ginger made me some beautiful origami baskets, while I did some school work to get myself ready for the upcoming week. By late afternoon, it seemed as if Tianchen's flight was 'a go', so we decided to go to Ft. Myers early and enjoy a traditional Chinese meal. The kids both said they miss Chinese food, and I know this restauran...

We had another big day planned with the Chinese babies and it began with AIS @ 10:30am. (For those who don't know, that means Ass in Seat by 10:30am, or the boat will leave the dock without you!) It's like herding cats, people 😻 It was a beautiful blue sky day for a cruise along the Caloosahatchee :) Look at all those bow babes! (and Tianchen :) Miss Rachel looks pretty relaxed! Annie took a turn at driving the boat. The smile says it all :)  Ginger, it's exactly how  I feel about being on the boat, on the water,  in the sun, with the wind in my hair, too. Tianchen wins the prize for the MOST relaxed! And Lavendar wins the prize for the MOST photogenic! Before long, I was calling for a bridge opening, and lining her up to sail on through.  We had a strong breeze blowing, so Len and I discussed how I would make the approach to the docks at Labelle. This view also never gets old ...

We have some of the best neighbors, but these two take the cake! By the time I get my first cup of coffee on a Saturday morning, Ms. C has already walked four miles and decorated the yard for game day! You're in Bucks territory the minute you set foot in their door. She puts out a spread for every game day...it's tradition! In case I forget the words to the fight song, she has them displayed for me :) Hail, hail to old Purdue! Sssssshhhhhh What a set up, huh? On a 60" TV no less! She's adorable :))) This is a photograph taken years ago when they were at a game....their names appeared on the scoreboard! A buckeye necklace hangs on the lamp- I love it! Mr. C knows me all too well... if Purdue or Notre Dame is playing the same time as The Ohio State, he turns on the television in the other room so I can check on the scores. So this is how we spend our Saturdays during college football season... And ...
